Beyond every iMagination…

Inspiration is the spice of life. It allows you to do things beyond your horizon…beyond your imagination…

But is inspiration not only important for authors, painters, artists… All the creative professions?

No, it’s also important for a mother who doesn’t know what to cook for her family. It’s important for an elder couple who never had the chance to study.

Such problems are solved by the iPhone’s inspiration: The mother chooses from thousands of recipes to cook something delicious for her kids and husband (cooking apps). The elder couple attend Harvard or other universities’ courses sitting in their living room (we introduced).

These people do not only gain some wonderful moments, they gain more quality of  life.

So the iPhone is like a kiss from a muse inspiring us for the little and the bigger things in our life…

Paris, iLove you!

Bonjour Mesdames et Messieurs! Today I would like to invite you to a tour through the most beautiful and romantic city of the world: Paris.

“Oh no! Please, not a city trip again…Not Paris!” one might say. The last one left horrible memories:

Starring at all sights knowing nothing about them was bad for your intellectual confidence. And the metro plans seemed to be colourful spaghetti monsters (That’s why you got lost 28 times).

Take it easy…now you have your iPhone and can forget about all that.

By using the amazing augmented reality app, you have a city guide (without a French accent), all public transport timetables and a GPS system in one.  See it here and get impressed:

You don’t even have to go to Paris to enjoy its atmosphere…Have a café au lait at home and just relax…

Now you can say: Paris, iLove you!

You rock my world…

Good evening everybody.

Today we will have a look on how musical your iPhone can be.

Ok guys. So to start up with i have an incredibly fun tool for anyone who always thought of beeing a real rock star and always regreted that their parents didn’t insist on their kids taking guitar lessons when they were younger. iShred is not just fun, it also offers you the opportunity to learn about strings, chords, and even enables you to read the music if you practise a little bit. Have a look at this video, which I think is amazing:

So of course i also thought of our fellow readers who are more into classical music played on the piano. For those virtuosos i found a neat little app called FingerPiano. Just have a look at this:

And if you practise real hard, one day you will be able to play a whole concert 🙂 Watch this

So to come to an end now, the last thing i’d like to show you is a little app called Shazam.
Imagine you are somewhere in a restaurant and they are playing a song you are dying to know the name of. Just take out your iPhone, open Shazam, let it listen to your song for a while and it will tell you exactly what song it is and where to get it 🙂 Have a nice day…

So guys. You already got an impression of what this little Blog is about. I hope you all enjoy getting your daily “appdate” of what’s new and interessting in the iPhones world.

But before we come to our todays hottest App (which actually isn’t an app, but something even better regarding educational reasons), i’d like to get some information about how many of you guys already own the swiss knife of the future:

Ok now. So we all are students at the Moment. We all want to recieve higher education and i think every one of has has already thought of visiting another university to find out how students are tought somerwhere else than at our beautiful homeuniversity TU Dortmund.

Now we have the chance to do so. iTunes University is a powerful addon to iTunes and it offers the chance to visit lecture from universities all over the world. Look at the video:

I think this basicly explains everything you need to know about iTunes U. You can of course also use it on your iPhone or iPod as well as you just have to synchronise it with the iTunes software what each one of you guys owning one of those things does anyway.

So have a great day and enjoy infinite mobile learning inspiration with iTunes University

To the moon and back…

Imagine your first date and you sitting in a lovely restaurant: The food is delicious, the candle light is magical and you both are just…silent.

Going out for the first time can be very embarassing. There’s not much to talk about besides the slow waiter or the weather.

Suddenly, your iPhone has an idea: What about a trip to the moon and back? Hallelujah!

Having the app called  Moon Globe, you can impress your vis-à-vis with a tour besides every imagination. Amazing virtual reality graphics help you to gain one person’s heart.

By showing how the Moon appears today and zooming in line a telescope with up to 300 power magnification, this date will remain unforgettable.

Terrain features and landed spacecraft are labelled in an elegant 3D tag cloud that floats just above the surface and lets you float on cloud nine.

It’s just one small step for mankind, but one giant leap for you and your date…

communication problems…

Who doesn’t know that problem?

You are in a different country and want to buy a beer. Simply a beer. Something that is sold every single day all over the world.

The waiter comes to your table and wants to take your orders. I mean of course, its just a beer so you should call it by its name…

You say: “One beer please”

And the waiter responds: “لا أستطيع أن أفهم ذلك” (you have to read it from right to left by the way)

So that is when you remember you are in an arabic country and it is not always common for the people there to speak English (although the enormous presence of American citizens in that part of the world prove the contrary)

Anyways. Lucky you because you’ve been blessed with the gift of worlds ultimate high tech swiss knife: the iPhone.

You quickly pull it out of your camouflage suit while leaning your M16 rifle right next to your table and you start loading a neat little app called “Arabic Language Buddy”

Simply enter the sentence “I’d like a beer please” into your device et voila, in a loud and clear voice you can hear the arabic words every soldier of freedom should know  “وأود بيرة من فضلك” (again you have to read it from right to left)

in this reflects…cheers

An app a day keeps educational problems away

Nowadays, a lot of teachers wonder how they can make their lessons more attractive to their students who are addicted to the internet, cellphones and video games. This typical addiction of a whole generation can be seen as a problem or as a great chance…

Changing times require changing teaching methods. So instead of torturing their students (and also themselves) with old methods, teachers can integrate the iPhone into their curriculum. By applying  so-called apps for the iPhone, it’s more interesting for students to take part in class or in projects.

An app a day keeps educational problems away…

Just one touch away from U.S. presidents, tours through important museums or even space travels…An amazing portal to a live stream of information is provided by billions of minds. So students have fun to present this knowledge gained in a few seconds instead of looking for the information in books.

Not only students benefit from the iPhone lessons, but also the teacher. By using the iPhone apps, it’s possible to work more efficiently. Really?  As the administration and organization of a teacher is often a unending story,  here again the iPhone method is very promising.

Apps for teachers include an electronic calendar, a notebook and a course register. Paper work isn’t necessary anymore. The data of students is always up to date and in the pocket!

To give you an inspiration of different apps, you will find a top five list containing various topics. These five are just starters, other will be added in the following days. So, have fun…and maybe you’ll become an iPhone teacher or student.
